Dermaplaning In Bracknell

Dermaplaning uses a sterile surgical blade, held at an angle against the skin, to remove dead surface cells and the fine vellus hair most of us have on our faces. It sounds more dramatic than it is. There is no pain, no downtime, and no needles.

What it does

Skin looks brighter straight away, because you have removed the dull layer that was scattering the light. Texture feels noticeably smoother. Makeup sits flat rather than catching on fine hair. And because there is no longer a barrier of dead cells, your serums and moisturisers absorb properly rather than sitting on the surface.

It is particularly good before a wedding, a party or anything photographed, and it works well as a regular treatment every four to six weeks.

The myth worth clearing up

Your hair will not grow back thicker or darker. Vellus hair does not behave like coarse hair, and shaving it does not change the follicle. It grows back exactly as it was.

Who it suits

Most skin types. It is not suitable if you have active acne, an inflamed breakout, or a cold sore, because the blade can spread bacteria across the skin. If you are unsure, message me and I will tell you honestly.

What happens

I cleanse thoroughly, then work in small sections across the face. It takes around twenty minutes and feels like a light scratching, not unpleasant. Afterwards I apply a hydrating serum and SPF.
